What's in a name?
Inspired by Jesus’ words in Matthew 9:36–38, “But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” -our name (Church of the Harvest) was chosen because we believe the harvest is ready—people are waiting to encounter God. We exist to help reconcile people back to God. Our name is a constant reminder that we are called to partner with Him in a continual cycle of evangelism, spiritual growth, discipleship, and service all working together to bring souls into the harvest. .
The mission of the Church was given by Jesus Himself.
In Matthew 28:18–20, He calls us to make disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to follow His commands.
At Church of the Harvest, our goal is simple: to obey the Great Commission and make disciples.
Our unique approach to the Great Commission is rooted in the Great Commandment.
“Building Wholeness Through Relationships” reflects our belief that true discipleship requires both a vertical relationship with God and horizontal relationships with people. Together, they shape us into the whole, balanced individuals God created us to be.
Our core values are to pursue God, follow Jesus, grow together, lead by serving, reach the lost, and live whole—reflecting our commitment to build wholeness through relationships with God, each other, and our community.
Founded on October 18, 2009, by Pastors Curtis and Daisy Thompson, our church was birthed from a desire to obey the Great Commission and live out the Great Commandment. The Great Commission, found in Matthew 28:18–20, calls us to go and make disciples of all nations—baptizing them and teaching them to obey everything Jesus has commanded. The Great Commandment, found in Matthew 22:37–40, instructs us to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind—and to love our neighbor as ourselves. These two foundational teachings of Jesus guide everything we do.
At Church of the Harvest, we are committed to sharing the gospel, making disciples, and building wholeness through relationships—with God, with each other, and with our community.
